From December 4th to 5th, 2020, three conferences were held in Beijing, namely, the annual meeting of the 17th World Rail Transit Development Research Conference in 2020, the 2020 rail transit equipment and safety forum, and the 10th China Railway Electrification Technology and equipment exchange conference. Based on the theme of “Developing, Safety and Intelligence”, the conferences carried out in-depth discussion and research from industry development, high-level dialogue, equipment and safety forum, etc.
China is the largest rail transit market in the world now and for some time to come. Since 2014, China’s railway construction investment has been stable at around 122 billion dollars per year. In 2020, the railway investment has been 122 billion dollars. At the same time, China’s high-speed railway is actively going abroad. For example, China Railway Corporation has undertaken the construction of the 142.3-kilometer high-speed railway project from Jakarta to Bandung.
By the end of 2019, the mileage of high-speed rail is about 35000 km, ranking first in the world steadily. Urban rail transit shows a steady growth trend, and also reflects the periodicity of the “12th Five Year Plan” and “13th five year plan”, and the traffic peak appears in the second half of each five-year plan. By the end of 2019, China’s urban rail transit (excluding trams) has reached 6426.84 km, becoming a major urban rail transit country in the world. Among them, there are 38 cities with metro lines, and the number of cities and the length of lines are the first in the world. According to the 13th five year plan, China’s subway construction investment will reach 306 billion US dollars. In 2020, the total construction mileage will exceed 8600 km.
